Undergraduate Advisement

Academic Advisement

  • Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) majors with fewer than 24 credit hours are advised in the University College Academic Advisement Center
  • Honors students in CSD with fewer than 24 credit hours are advised in the Honors Office
  • Majors in CSD have an assigned advisor in our department
    • Sophomores and Juniors are advised by Shannon Darling. Email Shannon Darling or current students can schedule an appointment with Shannon through your My.ISU homepage. Shannon also holds weekly Drop Ins on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s from 3:00 - 4:00 PM.
      • Please come to Fell Hall, room 340 to check in for advising appointments with Shannon.
    • All prospective students interested in applying to CSD are advised by Heidi Verticchio. Email Heidi Verticchio or schedule an appointment online.

CSD grade requirements for ASHA certification

ASHA requires all course work (academic and clinical) used to satisfy the Standards to be completed and passed.  This indicates students must obtain a C or better in all CSD coursework as well biology, chemistry/physics, statistics, and lifespan development.
