Biography

Julie Burns graduated from Illinois State University with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP). She is licensed in SLP through IDFPR, has a Professional Educator License through ISBE, and her Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA. Her first job was in District 149 in the Chicago area. She’s also worked in Olympia District 16 and at a Head Start program with 3-5-year-olds. She’s been a clinical educator and instructor at ISU for 17 years, specializing in children with speech and language disorder, and loves her job and career choice.
