  • Dr. Sawyer's teaching interests are in fluency disorders, counseling, and professional writing.
  • RESEARCH INTERESTS
  • Dr. Sawyer's research interests are in fluency disorders, specifically in characteristics of stuttered speech and treatment efficacy. She is currently investigating articulation rate in stuttered speech and the distribution of disfluencies in speech samples. The focus of her clinical research is on parent-based interventions for preschool children and the efficacy of an employment interview program for adults who stutter.
