Teaching Interests:
Dr. Friberg's teaching interests are focused on child language development and disorders with an emphasis on early literacy, narrative language, and test validity/reliability. She also conducts research in the areas of teaching and learning, and is particularly interested in methods of increasing student engagement through active learning.
Research Interests:
Dr. Friberg is currently involved in research centered on the following topics:

  • narrative language
  • language assessment practices
  • test validity and reliability
  • parent/child interactions in various shared storybook reading contexts
  • scholarship of teaching and learning, particularly in the areas of student engagement and active learning
