Linda Bowman

Linda Bowman ’81, M.S.’83, retired on June 29, after nearly 30 years of service. Bowman received both of her degrees in speech pathology.

Kwame Curtis

CSD alumnus Maj. Kwame Curtis was inducted into the College of Arts and Sciences’ (CAS) Hall of Fame April 26. Induction into the CAS Hall of Fame is an honor bestowed upon individuals based on outstanding performance in one’s profession; demonstrated leadership in one’s profession; favorable statewide, national, or international recognition; honors from associations or employers; and/or proof that one’s work has proven beneficial to a pronounced segment of society. Curtis met all of these criteria.

Jin Ho Kang

When Jin-Ho Kang ’06 first arrived at Illinois State, he hadn’t spoken English since high school. The only words he could say were “thank you” and “hello.” However the language barrier did not deter Kang from pursuing a degree and eventually founding an English language institute in South Korea.
